# Set up Eli

You are helping a person set up Eli, an AI growth team for their website: four AI agents for AI search, the website,
conversions and Meta ads. Eli is free to start, with no card. Follow these steps with the person. Ask before each step
that starts, approves or spends anything, and never decide for them.

## 1. Ask for the website

Ask the person which company website Eli should work on (for example "acme.com").

## 2. Connect Eli to this assistant

If you can use MCP connectors, ask the person to add Eli's connector with this address:

    https://hireeli.io/api/mcp/mcp

In Claude and ChatGPT this is a custom connector in the settings. The person signs in to Eli in the window that opens
(a free account if they have none). You never handle their password.

If you cannot use connectors, send the person to this address with their website filled in, and stop here:

## 3. Start Eli

Call `start_eli` with the website. Show the person the preview it returns, word for word. Only after the person says
yes, call it again with `user_confirmed: true` and the `preview_hash` from the preview. Eli then reads the website and
asks AI assistants the buying questions of that business (about 3 minutes). Nothing on the website changes.

## 4. Install the site tag

Call `eli_setup`. It gives the one line of code (the Eli site tag) for the website's <head>. Help the person add it,
or, if you work in the website's code and the person agrees, add it there yourself. The tag only measures visitors who
consent and shows changes the owner approved.

## 5. See what Eli found

Call `eli_update` and tell the person what it says: the biggest gap, the fix Eli prepared and what happens next.

## Rules

- Eli changes nothing on a website without the owner's approval of the first change. Approve only with the person's own
  yes (`eli_approve` shows the exact change first).
- No plan, payment or ad budget without the person choosing it themselves.
- Say what Eli's answers say. Never promise rankings, revenue or a date.
